The route is planned before the resort is booked

Resort selection, accommodation comparison and coordinated transfers, handled in that order for Maldives and UAE trips from Ukraine.

Most offers open with a room photo. Ours opens with the arrival: which flight lands where, how long the seaplane or speedboat leg runs, and whether the transfer schedule still works if the flight slips. Only after that do we put two or three properties side by side and explain what the difference actually costs.

  1. 01

    Brief

Travel dates, nights, budget band, board basis and how much time you will tolerate in transit. A short call or written brief is enough.

  2. 02

    Shortlist

Two or three resorts or city hotels that fit the brief, each with its atoll or emirate, transfer type and honest caveats.

  3. 03

    Comparison

Room categories, board, reef access and nightly planning bands in one view, so upgrades are judged against nights rather than impressions. Compare resorts in the matrix.

  4. 04

    Transfer coordination

Seaplane and speedboat windows are matched to the flight you actually booked, with a buffer for immigration and baggage. See the transfer timeline.

Prices on this site are illustrative planning ranges, not live quotes. Availability, visa approval and weather sit outside our control. Send your brief to start.

Step 01 · Discovery brief

Five inputs turn a vague idea into a workable shortlist

Before we open a single resort page, we collect the five fields below. They decide which atolls are realistic, which board basis fits your day, and whether a UAE stopover lengthens the trip or eats it.

  1. 01

    Dates and length of stay

Arrival and departure windows, nights on the island, and any fixed flight dates you already booked. Seasonality changes both price band and reef visibility, so we note it here.

  2. 02

    Travelers and ages

Number of adults, children with ages, and whether anyone needs a shallow lagoon, a step-free villa, or a dive-certified house reef.

  3. 03

    Budget band per night

A range in USD, not a single figure. We compare accommodation on an illustrative planning basis, then confirm live rates at the moment of enquiry.

  4. 04

    Transfer tolerance

Seaplane, speedboat, or a domestic hop. Each adds time and cost, so we ask how long you will accept between landing at Male and reaching the villa.

  5. 05

    UAE add-on

Dubai or Abu Dhabi before or after the Maldives, with the number of nights you can spare. A two-night stopover is a different itinerary from a five-night one.

Send the five fields in one message and the shortlist usually follows within two working days. Start at the brief form or read how we rank the result in the comparison matrix.

Shortlist method

Three filters, then dated comparison notes

Every shortlist starts from your brief and ends as a written comparison you can reopen later. Resort selection is narrowed by three hard filters before any accommodation comparison begins, so the options that reach you are reachable, priced and already checked against your dates.

  1. Transfer reality comes first

Islands served only by seaplane are listed with the flight window we would plan around, never a guaranteed departure. Speedboat-only resorts stay in the list when your arrival lands after the last scheduled flight of the day.

  2. Board basis matched to the stay

Half board suits a resort with a village nearby; all inclusive suits a small island where the restaurant is the evening. We note what the meal plan actually covers on your dates instead of assuming parity between two resorts.

  3. Price band stated as a range

Each candidate carries an illustrative nightly band in US dollars for the requested month, with the caveat that live pricing and availability move. Ranges, not single figures, because villa categories sell out unevenly.

Transfers

Air, sea and road: what each transfer costs you in hours

We sequence the seaplane, speedboat and road legs against your arrival slot in Male or Dubai, then hand you a single itinerary. The timings below are planning ranges, not confirmed schedules.

  • Seaplane to the atoll resort

25 to 55 minutes airborne, daylight only

The quickest way to reach the outer atolls, but the fleet flies only between sunrise and late afternoon. Luggage is weighed per passenger and the final slot is set by the operator on the day.

  • Speedboat transfer

20 to 90 minutes by water, weather dependent

Suits closer islands and evening arrivals that seaplanes cannot cover. Crossings get rough during the wet season, so we check the sea state before locking a boat leg.

  • Road transfer in the UAE

30 to 90 minutes by car

Dubai and Abu Dhabi resorts are reached by road. Motorway traffic near Dubai is heaviest between 17:00 and 20:00, which we build into the pickup time rather than trim later.

What we cannot promise. We book transfer legs with the operators and confirm them in writing. Departure times, seaplane weight clearance, sea state and visa approval stay outside our control, so we never guarantee a fixed arrival time at the resort.

Next step

Send your brief and get a shortlist within one business day

Give us the travel window, the atoll or emirate you are considering, and the transfer time you will accept. We answer with two to four resort options, a side-by-side accommodation comparison, and a written transfer plan.

A brief is a request, not a booking. Rates stay planning ranges until a resort confirms availability. Already weighing options? Open the resort comparison matrix.

We use your details only to prepare the shortlist and the transfer plan.
